Day 1: Anchorage
We'll pick you up and take you to your hotel. Explore Alaska's largest city or just relax. This evening, meet your tour director and traveling companions at a get-to-know-you reception.

Day 2: Anchorage – Denali
You'll transfer to the rail depot this morning. Then travel aboard the luxurious glass-domed railcars of the McKinley Explorer. Enjoy breakfast with your group in our elegant dining salon while the landscape unfolds around you.
Take in the wide-open scenery as you travel through the Matanuska Valley, a farming region known for mammoth vegetables, past colorful towns like Wasilla, billed as the "Home of the Iditarod", along scenic rivers like the Susitna, which means "Mother River", and across Hurricane Gulch, where the train slows to 5 miles per hour to cross over the trestle built over the creek 296 feet below.
You'll transfer to the rail depot this morning Then travel aboard the luxurious glass-domed railcars of the McKinley Explorer as we journey along the base of the spectacular Alaska Range, past Mt. McKinley to Denali National Park. Enjoy breakfast with your group in our comfortable dining area, while the landscape unfolds before you. Tonight you'll be regaled with a sumptuous dinner and homespun entertainment at Cabin Nite Dinner Theater. (B, D)

Day 3: Denali
Enjoy breakfast with your group before your morning tour. Watch for big game and other Alaskan wildlife as you explore the rugged landscape of Denali on the Tundra Wilderness Tour. Weather permitting Mt. McKinley may be visible in its breathtaking splendor. The afternoon is yours to participate in some of the Park's free activities or select from thrilling options such as a jet boat ride and helicopter flightseeing. (B)

Day 4: Denali – Talkeetna
You'll be swapping stories with your new friends over breakfast this morning. Then, travel by luxury motor coach via the George Parks Highway to the historic town of Talkeetna. Here at the junction of three rivers you'll stay the night at the beautiful Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge.

Then, get a different perspective on the Alaska Range as you travel by luxury motor coach to Talkeetna at the junction of three rivers where nature trails and optional activities abound. You'll stay at Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge, featuring quite possibly the most awesome view of Mt. McKinley in the state. (B)

Day 5: Talkeetna – Alyeska
This morning we'll take you south by luxury motor coach to Portage Lake for an unforgettable cruise aboard the MV Ptarmigan to within 300 yards of Portage Glacier. There'll be time for shopping and lunch at the nearby visitor center and lodge. At day's end, rest easy at Alyeska Resort in the picturesque town of Girdwood. (B)

Day 6: Alyeska – Seward
After breakfast, we'll take you by motor coach to Seward for an adventure cruise along the dramatic Kenai Peninsula coastline broken by misty glacier-carved fjords. You'll enjoy lunch on board while watching for whales, sea lions, porpoises and sea otters in the water, mountain goats, moose, and bears along the coast, and bald eagles, puffins and many other bird species inhabiting the cliffs and rocky shore. Day 7: Seward – Anchorage
Join your group for breakfast, and perhaps an optional tour of the Alaska SeaLife Center. Then motor coach to Anchorage with time to explore and have lunch on your own. In the afternoon we'll treat you to a tour of Alaska's largest city, including the Alaska Native Heritage Center where you can experience Alaska's many diverse Native cultures, past and present. This evening, join your tour director and fellow travelers for a farewell dinner at the Sourdough Mining Company. (B, D)

Day 8: Anchorage
Extend your Alaska vacation with a variety of our travel opportunities, or end your tour here. We'll take you from the hotel to the airport.
