Alaska Wildland Adventure's Denali Wildland Journey - 7 Days
Join us and our partner, Alaska Wildland Adventure, on this escorted tour of Alaska.
Day 1: Anchorage
We will transfer you to your Anchorage hotel, and enjoy the rest of your day at your leisure. Overnight at the Aspen Hotel Anchorage.
Day 2: Anchorage-Talkeetna
Meet your Trip Leader in the lobby of the Aspen Hotel, and then it's off to the Alaska Native Heritage Center. Later this morning, begin your journey to the historical town of Talkeetna, mountaineering gateway to the Alaska Range. Take an optional flightseeing tour of Mount McKinley (Denali) and its adjacent glacial canyons or wander through "downtown" Talkeetna and learn about mountaineering and Talkeetna's history. Overnight at the Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge. (B, L, D)
Day 3: Talkeetna – Kantishna
Continue traveling north to Denali National Park. Enjoy a Denali Wildlife Drive while traveling the full length of the restricted access Denali Park Road. Watch for caribou, moose, Dall sheep, grizzly bears, resident and migratory birds, and weather permitting, the tallest peak in North America, Denali.
Upon arrival at Kantishna Roadhouse, have dinner and settle into your cozy cabin accommodations deep within Denali National Park. (B, L, D)
Day 4: Kantishna
Enjoy the first of two full days of exploration and hiking in the Kantishna region of Denali National Park. The activities available at the Kantishna Roadhouse include guide hikes, natural history programs, and dog sled demonstrations. Optional add-on horseback-riding and flightseeing tours may be offered during your stay at the lodge. However, these activities are weather and space-dependent. Overnight at Kantishna Roadhouse. Day 5: Kantishna
Enjoy this day at leisure on your second day deep inside Denali National Park and Preserve. Overnight at Kantishna Roadhouse. (B, L, D)
Day 6: Kantishna – Anchorage
Following an early breakfast, embark on another Denali Wildlife drive and watch for Wildlife while heading for the entrance of the park. Say farewell to your Trip Leader and board the Alaska Railroad for the journey back to Anchorage, arriving at the rail station at approximately 8:00 pm. Gray Line of Alaska will pick you up and take you to your Anchorage hotel. Return to the Aspen Hotel Anchorage. (B)
Day 7: Anchorage
Extend your stay in Alaska with an independent tour or take our transfer to the airport.
