The first thing to know is that the Athabasca Falls are not in close proximity
to Athabasca Glacier. The second thing to know is that you do not want to miss
either one of them. Quite close to the old Icefields Parkway highway and carving its way through quartz and
sandstone rock, you will love watching the roaring water drop 80 feet into a
slim gorge.
The falls are only about 20 miles from Jasper.
Walk over the pedestrian bridge to see the falls from another viewpoint and
heed the signs that say stay on the trails. Some of those who did not paid with
their lives on the steep embankments.
