On-board bedrooms provide the ultimate in first class train travel. By day a private room for two or three, with armchairs, a large picture window, small closet, call button, hand basin, razor outlet, and separate toilet, vanity and foldout table on request. At night your porter converts your quarters to comfortable upper and lower beds. On the diagram below look for "Bedrooms" lettered "B" through "F" for double bedrooms and triple bedrooms are lettered "A". Triple bedrooms have two lower beds and one upper bed and are very, very limited. Two bedrooms can be combined into one very large bedroom (En-Suite) by removing the common wall.
DOUBLE BEDROOMS Comfortable chairs by day are made up by your porter into up and down sleeping berths in the evening. Most beds are perpendicular to the train and can easily accommodate someone 6 feet in length! 2 Bedrooms can be combined to create a spacious suite! |
The double bedroom provides an
entirely private, onboard haven of peace and quiet. Each bedroom features two
armchairs, a small closet, fan, electrical outlet, private washroom, sink and
mirror. A small table can even be set up for you upon request. The door locks
from the inside and the shower is only a few metres down the hall.
By night, the two armchairs collapse to make way for two comfortable bunks, one upper and one lower.

BERTHS (semi-private)

Upper berth accommodation is the most economical means of
travelling in the comfort and quiet of VIA Rail's sleeping cars. Lower berth
accommodation, slightly more convenient, costs only a few dollars more.
By day, the two berths transform into two double seats that face each other. A table is available upon request. By night, the double seats give way to two cosy, comfortable beds, each equipped with a reinforced privacy curtain. Washroom and shower facilities are located only a few metres away in the same car. |
SINGLE BEDROOMSOur smallest sleeping car accommodation is the single bedroom, which features an entirely private space for one person. By day, you will enjoy a comfortable seat, by night a cosy bed. Each bedroom includes a fan, electrical outlet, private washroom, sink and mirror. The door locks from the inside and the shower is only a few metres down the hall.
