trains.

Day 1
Sunday/Friday
Our incredible train journey
begins! Transfer on our
own to Vancouver Pacific Central Station (downtown) and all aboard our VIA Rail
train bound for the Alberta Rockies. The "Canadian's Silver and Blue
service is renowned for its class and comfort. We traverse the Fraser
Valley's farmland before entering the narrow gorge of Fraser Canyon.
Continue through the rolling ranch country of the Interior Plateau as the train
follows the North Thompson River to Kamloops. Overnight onboard with
dinner included. We can arrange pre-night hotel stays in Vancouver at great
prices!

Day 2
Arriving Jasper mid-day we transfer the short distance to our hotel on our own. The remainder of the day
is free to shop and explore or go for a stroll. The feelings of calm and peace that overtake you in
the wild Canadian Rockies will refresh you like never before. Near
Jasper are a dozen beautiful lakes not the least beautiful is MALIGNE
LAKE and
spirit Island. 
Day 3
Bid farewell to Jasper and depart to the south on the Icefields Parkway, one of
the most beautiful drives in the World.
We board a Sno-coach to ride up onto ATHABASCA
GLACIER located
on the massive Columbia Icefields. Lakes
abound along the highway and change in color from emerald green to brilliant
baby blue. We
continue to BANFF
NATIONAL PARK
with a brief en route stop at lovely LAKE
LOUISE.
Overnight Banff.
Day 4
After a hearty breakfast our
local sightseeing tour includes BANFF
TOWNSITE and Sulphur Mountain for a gondola ride, complete with
panoramic views of Banffs' spectacular scenery. The afternoon
is at leisure. Perhaps enjoy a hike in the nearby trails, a round of golf,
horseback riding, or a stroll through the town. The hotsprings are
wonderful. For the very adventurous there are helicopter hiking
excursions. In the area we find JOHNSTON

Day 5
We board the
Rocky Mountaineer train this morning, and travel the historic rails of the
Canadian Pacific Railway. We cross the Continental divide at Kicking
Horse Pass and continue through Roger's Pass on the downhill run through Yoho
Park. Continue to Kamloops, British Columbia, where we disembark and are transferred to our hotel for the night. The
Rocky Mountaineer is an all-daylight train and has been especially built
to showcase the beautiful Canadian Rockies and four other mountain
chains between the Alberta border and the Pacific coast.
Day 6
Re-board the Rocky Mountaineer to complete our grand circle adventure.
Roll across the British Columbia interior past desert country, vineyards,
cranberry marshes and orchards. Arrive in VANCOUVER
for our last overnight.
Step out this evening to sample award winning cuisine or some of Vancouver's
terrific nightlife. 
Day 7 Saturday/Thursday Checkout
and end of services. Those who wish a longer stay can join our tour to
Vancouver Island including BUTCHART
GARDENS and pretty British, VICTORIA. High Tea at colonial Empress hotel
perhaps! This is our most popular excursion from Vancouver and justly so.
