Day 1 Sunday/Friday
Our incredible train journey begins!  Transfer on our own to Vancouver Pacific Central Station (downtown) and all aboard our VIA Rail train bound for the Alberta Rockies.  The "Canadian's Silver and Blue service is renowned for its class and comfort.  We traverse the Fraser Valley's farmland before entering the narrow gorge of Fraser Canyon.  Continue through the rolling ranch country of the Interior Plateau as the train follows the North Thompson River to Kamloops.  Overnight onboard with dinner included. We can arrange pre-night hotel stays in Vancouver at great prices!

Day 2  Arriving Jasper mid-day we transfer the short distance to our hotel on our own.  The remainder of the day is free to shop and explore or go for a stroll.  The feelings of calm and peace that overtake you in the wild Canadian Rockies will refresh you like never before.  Near Jasper are a dozen beautiful lakes not the least beautiful is MALIGNE LAKE and spirit Island.

Day 3   Bid farewell to Jasper and depart to the south on the Icefields Parkway, one of the most beautiful drives in the World.  We board a Sno-coach to ride up onto ATHABASCA GLACIER located on the massive Columbia Icefields.  Lakes abound along the highway and change in color from emerald green to brilliant baby blue.  We continue to BANFF NATIONAL PARK  with a brief en route stop at lovely LAKE LOUISE.  Overnight Banff.

Day 4   After a hearty breakfast our local sightseeing tour includes BANFF TOWNSITE and Sulphur Mountain for a gondola ride, complete with panoramic views of Banffs' spectacular scenery.  The afternoon is at leisure.  Perhaps enjoy a hike in the nearby trails, a round of golf, horseback riding, or a stroll through the town.  The hotsprings are wonderful.  For the very adventurous there are helicopter hiking excursions.  In the area we find JOHNSTON CANYON, VERMILION LAKES  &  LAKE MINNEWANKA

Lake Louise

Beautiful Moraine Lake

Day 5  We board the Rocky Mountaineer train this morning, and travel the historic rails of the Canadian Pacific Railway.   We cross the Continental divide at Kicking Horse Pass and continue through Roger's Pass on the downhill run through Yoho Park.  Continue to Kamloops, British Columbia, where we disembark and are transferred to our hotel for the night.  The Rocky Mountaineer is an all-daylight train and has been especially built to showcase the beautiful Canadian Rockies and four other mountain chains between the Alberta border and the Pacific coast.

Day 6  Re-board the Rocky Mountaineer to complete our grand circle adventure.  Roll across the British Columbia interior past desert country, vineyards, cranberry marshes and orchards.  Arrive in VANCOUVER for our last overnight.   Step out this evening to sample award winning cuisine or some of Vancouver's terrific nightlife.

Day 7 Saturday/Thursday Checkout and end of services.  Those who wish a longer stay can join our tour to Vancouver Island including BUTCHART GARDENS and pretty British, VICTORIA.  High Tea at colonial Empress hotel perhaps!  This is our most popular excursion from Vancouver and justly so.
