14 Day Summer and Fall Foliage Tour
For groups of 10 or more
(CSTgrp1157)

The weather is warm and the fall colors are astounding
No tour of Western Canada would be complete without seeing the famous
West Edmonton Mall,  touted as the 8th wonder of the world.   It is truly inspiring.

Day 1  Sunday, Tuesday or Thursday.  Arrive in Toronto (we can book your airfare) and transfer on your own to our downtown hotel.

Day 2  The great adventure begins.  We tour the waterfront, Casa Loma and Yorkville Village.  See the CN Tower, tallest structure on earth.  Stand on the glass floor on the first level observation platform and gaze down over 1,000 feet!  See the impressive Skydome with its retractable roof.  Overnight Toronto, Canada's largest metropolis.

Ontario Place, Toronto

Day 3  Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays board the "Silver and Blue" train at 0900 for the remarkable rail journey West.  Discover how the "West was Won" Canadian Style as you retrace the historic western transcontinental route that, early this century, opened the west and created a bond of steel that redefined a nation.

Day 4  Admire the blazing colors of the deciduous trees of the Canadian Shield before we roll into the prairies of Manitoba arriving in Winnipeg at 3:55PM.  Depart at 4:55PM and roll across the prairies through Saskatchewan.  Let the gentle motion of the train put you to sleep.

Day 5  Arrive in Edmonton, Capital and most important city in Alberta, at 8:10AM.  Transfer on our own to West Edmonton Mall Hotel and have the rest of the day free to explore the 800 stores, restaurants, theaters, amusement park, water park and skating rink.
Day 6  We enjoy a city tour of Alberta's most dynamic city, Edmonton including the Legislature, downtown including the most unique city hall anywhere, the river valley (Edmonton has more parks than any city in North America) and lively Whyte Avenue.  How about lunch at the Harvest Room in the historic and majestic MacDonald Hotel, mounted on the steep banks of the North Saskatchewan River.

Day 7  Depart from Edmonton is at 8:55 to the Jewel of the Rockies, Jasper.  We arrive in Jasper at 2:15PM.  Transfer to our hotel with the remainder of the day free to explore the town.  Jasper is famous for its magnificent alpine scenery.  The mountain slopes will be splashed with the colors of autumn.  We enjoy a walking and hiking tour with an expert local guide.  He'll introduce us the natural bounty of one of Canada's most beautiful National Parks.

Fabulous Meals Aboard the Train

Day 8  We have a free day to explore Jasper.  Consider an optional tour to Miette Hotsprings or a boat ride on Maligne Lake and Canyon for the photo opportunity of a lifetime.  There are many trails and lakes near to Jasper and the town is famous for its international cuisine.

Day 9  Travel south on the pretty "Icefields Parkway".  We'll stop at Athabasca falls to hear and see the mad rush of water.  Continue to the Columbia Icefields where we board our Sno-Coach for the ride onto the glacier.  This is the largest "ice cube" south of the Arctic Circle and it is the source of several rivers.  Our next stop is magnificent Lake Louise, world famous for its aquamarine blue waters.  We learn about rock flour and the effect it has on many lakes in the Rocky Mountains of Canada.   Continue to Banff Alberta where we are treated to a tour of the town.  Return late in the day to Jasper.

Peyto Lake

Day 10  We can sleep in a little or "up and at 'em" for a morning stroll.  All aboard our train, as we continue through the majestic Rockies to Vancouver, British Columbia.

Day 11  Arrive early in the morning and transfer on our own to our downtown hotel.  We have the remainder of the day free to explore and shop in one of the prettiest cities anywhere.  The mountains seem like they are right at your feet and the ocean views are simply splendid from many parts of the city.
Day 12  Our  motor coach tour introduces us to the charms of this great city.   See Grouse Mountain for its breathtaking views and then walk the Capilano Suspension Bridge.  Walk Gastown (dates back to 1860), Chinatown, Stanley Park to see the Totem Poles, and shop at Granville Island.

Day 13  Enjoy a free day or book our optional tour to Victoria on Vancouver Island.  Tour includes a stop at world-famous Busch Gardens.  Incredible as it may seem this haven of millions of flowers, and waterfalls was once an open pit quarry.  Continue to charming Victoria to experience its British character.  Return late in the day to Vancouver or chose to stay in Victoria and fly home from here.

Day 14  We transfer on our own for our flights home from Vancouver or Victoria Airports.
