The weather is warm and the fall colors are
astounding
No tour of Western Canada would be
complete without seeing the famous
West Edmonton Mall,
touted as the 8th wonder of the world. It is truly inspiring.
Day
1 Sunday, Tuesday or Thursday. Arrive in Toronto (we can book your airfare) and transfer
on your own to our downtown
hotel.
Day 2 The great adventure begins.
We tour the waterfront, Casa Loma and Yorkville Village. See the CN Tower,
tallest structure on earth. Stand on the glass floor on the first level
observation platform and gaze down over 1,000 feet! See the impressive Skydome with its retractable
roof. Overnight Toronto, Canada's largest metropolis.

Day 3 Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays board the
"Silver and Blue" train at 0900 for the
remarkable rail journey West. Discover how the "West was Won" Canadian Style
as you retrace the historic western transcontinental route that, early this
century, opened the west and created a bond of steel that redefined a nation.
Day 4 Admire
the blazing colors of the deciduous trees of the Canadian Shield before we roll into the
prairies of Manitoba arriving in Winnipeg at 3:55PM. Depart at 4:55PM and
roll across the prairies through Saskatchewan. Let the gentle motion of
the train put you to sleep.

Day 5 Arrive in Edmonton, Capital and
most important city in Alberta, at
8:10AM. Transfer on our own to West Edmonton Mall Hotel and have the rest of the day
free to explore the 800 stores, restaurants, theaters, amusement park, water
park and skating rink. |
Day 6 We enjoy a city tour of
Alberta's most dynamic city, Edmonton including the Legislature, downtown
including the most unique city hall anywhere, the river valley (Edmonton has
more parks than any city in North America) and lively Whyte Avenue. How
about lunch at the Harvest Room in the historic and majestic MacDonald Hotel,
mounted on the steep banks of the North Saskatchewan River.
Day 7 Depart from Edmonton is at 8:55 to the Jewel of the Rockies, Jasper. We
arrive in Jasper at 2:15PM. Transfer to our hotel with the remainder of
the day free to explore the town. Jasper is famous for its magnificent alpine scenery.
The mountain slopes will be splashed with the colors of autumn. We enjoy
a walking and hiking tour with an expert local guide. He'll introduce us
the natural bounty of one of Canada's most beautiful National Parks.

Day 8 We have a free day to explore Jasper. Consider an optional
tour to Miette Hotsprings or a boat ride on Maligne Lake and Canyon for the
photo opportunity of a lifetime. There are many trails and lakes near to
Jasper and the town is famous for its international cuisine.

Day 9 Travel south on the pretty "Icefields Parkway".
We'll stop at Athabasca falls to hear and see the mad rush of water.
Continue to the Columbia Icefields where we board our Sno-Coach for the ride
onto the glacier. This is the largest "ice cube" south of the Arctic Circle
and it is the source of several rivers. Our next stop is magnificent Lake
Louise, world famous for its aquamarine blue waters. We learn about rock
flour and the effect it has on many lakes in the Rocky Mountains of
Canada. Continue to Banff Alberta where we are treated to a tour of
the town. Return late in the day to Jasper.

Day 10 We can sleep in a little or "up and at 'em" for a morning
stroll. All aboard our train, as we continue through the majestic Rockies
to Vancouver, British Columbia.
Day 11 Arrive early in the morning and transfer
on our own to our downtown
hotel. We have the remainder of the day free to explore and shop in one of
the prettiest cities anywhere. The mountains seem like they are right at
your feet and the ocean views are simply splendid from many parts of the city.

Day 12 Our motor coach tour introduces us to the charms of this
great city. See Grouse Mountain for its breathtaking views and then walk
the Capilano Suspension Bridge. Walk Gastown (dates back to 1860),
Chinatown, Stanley Park to see the Totem Poles, and shop at Granville Island.
Day 13 Enjoy a free day or book our optional tour to Victoria on Vancouver
Island. Tour includes a stop at world-famous Busch Gardens.
Incredible as it may seem this haven of millions of flowers, and waterfalls was
once an open pit quarry. Continue to charming Victoria to experience its
British character. Return late in the day to Vancouver or chose to stay in
Victoria and fly home from here.
Day 14 We transfer on our own for our flights home from Vancouver or
Victoria Airports.
