Ski and Shopping Supertour

9 Fun-Filled Days
(tourCST021)

See Vancouver where the climate is mild and the shopping is abundant.  Travel to Jasper on the Trans-Canada "Silver and Blue Class" train where you have 4 days to hike, ski and enjoy the world class cuisine.  Continue to Edmonton by train and stay at the Fantasyland Hotel, directly attached to the World's largest shopping mecca.  West Edmonton mall features more stores than you could shop in if you had a month!!  Throw in the water park or theme park, a real fire breathing dragon, hundreds of palm trees, theaters, discos, pubs, daily dolphin shows or 4 working submarines and you have an ideal winter vacation getaway.

Day 1 (Saturday) The great adventure begins with your arrival at our downtown Vancouver hotel.  We book hotels in all prices ranges.  Some prefer to arrive Friday and stay for 2 nights.

Day 2 (Sunday - departures also Tuesdays and Fridays Transfer on our own to Vancouver Rail at the Pacific Central Station.    VIA RAIL BEDROOMS  /  DINING CAR  /  DOME CAR  /  PARK-LOUNGE CAR

Day 3-6  (Monday) Enjoy a hearty breakfast on board before we arrive in the "Jewel of the Rockies", Jasper, Alberta.   We transfer to our hotel on our own where we will enjoy the next four nights in the Rocky Mountain air.  Most hotels are a very short taxi ride from Jasper Train Station.  VIA RAIL BEDROOMS  /  DINING CAR  /  DOME CAR  /  PARK-LOUNGE CAR

Two day "Ski Lift Tickets" to Marmot Basin are provided and picked up at the front desk.  Transfers to the ski hill are not included but transfers to the hill are available right from the front of the hotel 3 times in the morning and drop-offs 3 times in the afternoon for a modest fee.  Your front desk clerk can recommend many hiking and exploring adventures for the stay in Jasper.  Perhaps hike to a frozen waterfall or lakeshore?

Day 7  All aboard Via Rail's day train to Edmonton Alberta!.   Transfers to West Edmonton Mall Hotel (or other hotel as chosen) are on our own.   The classy MacDonald Hotel in downtown Edmonton is a fabulous set high on the steep banks of the North Saskatchewan River.   Winter rates are very reasonable and the hotel is close to Edmonton Center downtown.

Day 8  A full day to shop and explore what this great city has to offer.  At West Edmonton mall you can ride the World's fastest indoor roller coaster,  splash in the World's largest indoor water park, ride one of 14 waters slides, see a movie at an Imax or one of 20 theaters, see a comedy show, visit one of the many night clubs, go skating, ride a submarine, see a fire breathing dragon and shop till you drop in any one of 800 stores and restaurants.
